Celebrating the winners of the Kathryn Miles Poster Competition 2013

Continuing Helapet's strong commitment to the education and development of our valued customers and staff, we were once more delighted to sponsor the Kathryn Miles Poster Award in collaboration with the Association of Pharmacy Technicians. Named after the founder of the APTUK, the Kathryn Miles Poster Competition supports creative thinking in sharing best practice research and ideas in pharmaceutical care.

Another great success with several entries for 2013, all delegates attending the annual APTUK Conference had the new opportunity to vote for their top three posters. John Blight (Managing Director of Helapet) was present at the conference to award cash prizes to each of the deserved winners.

Many congratulations to Mike Howes from Gloucestershire Royal Hospital who was presented with 1st prize for his poster entitled: 'Why be average when you can be excellent'.

2nd prize was awarded to Hayley File from Nuffield Health in Tunbridge Wells for her poster entitled 'Preparations and Legacy of the London 2012 Pharmacy Services', and 3rd prize went to Caroline Hoey of Antrim Area Hospital for her poster 'Referrals made by senior technicians in a hospital setting'.

Filter Devices go global at Forum Labo and Biotech 2013

For 2013 Helapet's specialist Filter Devices division had the opportunity to showcase our latest range of laboratory filters at the international Forum Labo and Biotech event in Paris. Under the "Art of Filtration" campaign, products on show included our newly launched Pipette Controller Filters, our 25mm Syringe Filter range, and our highly regarded custom design VariDisk® service. Attracting interest from an large array of delegates based across Europe and beyond, the Helapet team enjoyed great feedback on our product showcase - as well as a high demand for our newly introduced promotional coffee coasters!

For the second year running, Helapet were pleased to be showcasing some of our top products at the Clinical Pharmacy Congress 2013 in London. With a higher delegate level this year and a terrific line-up of interesting lectures, we yet again enjoyed a great two days of meeting new and familiar faces.

Showcasing our new range of West Pharma products, our sterile 20mm Vial Adapters and the highly innovative Vial2Bag IV transfer system proved a big hit. Our friendly team of experts were delighted to receive plenty of positive feedback from a substantial range of pharmacy professionals at our stand.

Helapet Wear it Pink for Charity

In support of the fight against Breast Cancer, Helapet staff had the opportunity to wear pink as part of the charity initiative "Wear Pink to Work Day". Showing off some impressive clothing accessories and donating to the cause, the Helapet Heros managed to raise £40.86. Rewarded with pink cupcakes for their efforts, a big additional thank you goes out to our team for getting so involved in this worthwhile charity event.

Helapet reward winners of APTUK Poster Competition

The winners of the APTUK Poster Competition have been announced following a chance to showcase their posters at the recent APTUK conference in September. Supporting best practice in clinical operations, Helapet would like to congratulate Sarah Simmons for 1st prize with her poster depicting the development of Clinical Trial training packages for Pharmacy Staff Groups. Congratulations also to Sally Hall and Lisa Wall-Hayes who came 2nd and 3rd respectively in the competition. Helapet are pleased to continue supporting the Association of Pharmacy Technicians and their work in inspiring new ideas from members across the country.

Bringing the Helapet BloodPorter® range to BBTS 2012

Attending the annual British Blood Transfusion Society (BBTS) conference in Harrogate, Helapet had the opportunity to present and promote our new range of BloodPorter® cold-chain carrying systems.

Attended by Chris Steng, Robert Collins and our new Cold-Chain specialist Agata Duliniec, the Blood Porter® range proved to greatly support the external/internal transportation of red blood cells and platelets between hospitals, blood-banks and storage sites.

Generating significant interest from the array of specialists and companies involved in blood transfusion, logistics and storage, our new Timestrip Minus^TM +2°C cold-chain indicator also proved a big hit.
